The Green Mini Grid Facility Kenya (GMG Facility) was initially conceived and funded by DFID, the programme provides grants and technical assistance for promoting private sector mini grid development in Kenya.The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is the implementing partner of the facility. AFD has strong regional experience in managing programmes aimed at promoting renewable energy resources and energy efficiency, such as the SUNREF Programme. Innovation Energie Development (IED) is the managing entity and in partnership with I-DEV and Practical Action Consulting (PAC), responsible for the implementation of the Facility.

Friends of Lake Tanganyika (FOLT) is environmental and humanitarian organization working for a Lake Tanganyika basin free of poverty, injustice and environmental degradation. It was founded in 2012 as The Green World Vision in response to environmental, development and humanitarian challenges facing the Lake Tanganyika Basin.
